Teresa Giudice totally lost it and stormed out of a live TV interview on Thursday, July 14, after she was asked about her husband, Joe Giudice, possibly facing deportation upon his release from prison. Joe, 44, is currently serving at least 36 months at Fort Dix Correctional Institution in New Jersey for conspiracy and fraud after the mother of four completed her sentence at Danbury Correctional Institute in December.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 44, was appearing on Access Hollywood Live with her sister-in-law and costar, Melissa Gorga, when viewers saw just how live the show really is.
“Do you worry that it’s the end of your family unit as you know it because there is all this talk that Joe could be deported since he’s an Italian citizen. Do you think about that?” guest cohost Dave Karger asked.
“Next question, please,” Teresa snapped. “I don’t think that’s something you should be asking.”
When fellow cohost Kit Hoover pressed her on the question, the Turning the Tables author retorted, “Sorry. Sorry, I think that’s really rude.”
Hoover justified the question again and said, “OK, well, it is a fact, and we’re probably going to see it on the show, so I don’t think that’s a rude question.”
“No, you’re not going to see it on the show,” Teresa replied. “As a matter of fact, I’m going to leave.” The reality star then walked off the set while attempting to unclip her microphone as Gorga looked slightly irritated and followed her off set.
During a later appearance on New York Live, Teresa discussed why she chose to abruptly end the Access Hollywood interview. “I’m not going to address it. It’s nobody’s business. It’s a legal matter, and I’m not addressing it. So if anybody asks me, going forward from here, I’m going to walk off … so don’t even try it. Because they’ll just make it worse.”
She explained that although she shares her life on reality TV, she didn’t realize how much scrutiny was going to come along with it. “Everything that happened to me, being in the public eye, unfortunately made it worse for me. And I feel like if I wasn’t in the public eye, who knows what would have happened,” she said. “Unfortunately, when I first got into this, I didn’t know all of this was going to happen, and I got into it for fun, not to be scrutinized and to be jabbed at, to be under a microscope. Like, I didn’t know anybody in Hollywood or California. I mean I grew up in Jersey! So I didn’t know about any of this. So I really got into it blindly and I was very naïve.”
