Police were reportedly called to Tom Brady’s new trading card store after the business was burglarized.
According to Palo Alto Police Department arrest records obtained by People, the CardVault by Tom Brady location in Palo Alto, California, was broken into and burglarized around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 23.
The suspects allegedly entered by breaking a window. Multiple display cases were also smashed during the burglary.
Police claim 60 trading cards were stolen for an estimated value of more than $12,000. The suspects remain at large.
Us has reached out to the Palo Alto Police Department and Brady’s rep for comment.
The incident comes nearly a week after the former NFL quarterback celebrated the CardVault’s third store in California by attending the grand opening event on August 15.
“@cardvaultbytombrady opened its doors in Palo Alto over the weekend and drew a big crowd,” the Palo Alto Police Department wrote via Instagram at the time. “Look who we ran into! 🏈Welcome to the neighborhood 🐐.”
CardVault by Tom Brady is described as the premier destination for sports cards, collectibles and memorabilia. The company combines the excitement of collecting with an elevated retail experience for hobbyists and fans alike.
What began as a single store has rapidly grown into a successful retail concept with 19 locations across the country, including Austin, Texas and Boston.
Although Brady, 49, has spent much of his summer working on his various businesses, he’s also been able to spend quality time with his children.
In June, the Fox Sports analyst watched his 19-year-old son Jack — who he shares with ex Bridget Moynahan — graduate from high school.
“One of the proudest days of my life, watching Jack walk across the stage and graduate into the next chapter of what’s already an impressive life,” Brady wrote via Instagram on June 13. “You are an amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend amongst many other things.”
In July, Brady enjoyed the FIFA World Cup with Jack and his two kids he shares with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen.
“What a finale to one of the greatest month-long sporting events we’ve ever seen. So happy to share it with my favorite crew,” Brady shared via Instagram on July 20. “To everyone who made this month what it was, friends, family and the athletes from around the world who stepped in the arena… these are the memories we’ll be talking about for the rest of our lives, and I’m glad I made them with you.”
