Oh, Draco! Tom Felton was up to his old wizarding tricks when he pranked his good friend and former Harry Potter costar Rupert Grint earlier this week. The British hunk dressed in disguise in a winter hat and glasses as he waited outside the stage door of Grint’s Broadway show It’s Only A Play on Sunday, Nov. 16.
Unlike Grint, a fellow audience member was quick to identify Felton in the crowd. “And then Tom Felton #aliasbob showed up to the stage door in a horrible wig to take a #selfie with Rupert,” a woman named Emily captioned an Instagram pic of Felton. “#nyc #broadway #tomfelton #itsonlyaplay #onlyinnyc #chooseanewalias #bobishorrible.”
“Tom was in a disguise to pull a prank on Rupert,” an insider told The Mirror. “The pair have a long history of playing pranks on each other on the set and off. Eventually Tom revealed himself to Rupert. It was hilarious.”
Back in July 2011, 26-year-old Grint showed up to Felton’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes L.A. premiere unannounced wearing an “I Love Tom Felton” white T-shirt. The lads had a good laugh over it and took a picture together on the red carpet.
Felton and Grint played enemies Draco Malfoy and Ron Weasley on the big screen for over a decade. They last visited Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in 2011.
