Tony Bennett fell ill during a sound check for his now-canceled concert with Lady Gaga on Tuesday, June 9. According to his Twitter account, he’s sick with the flu.
Sorry to not be singing in London tonight. I love my fans in the UK and appreciate all the well wishes to get over this flu quickly.

The “Because of You” crooner, 88, was scheduled to perform the second of two shows with Gaga at Royal Albert Hall in London, England, but shortly after he fell ill, the venue tweeted that the event would not go on as planned.
“We’re very sorry to say that tonight’s concert has been cancelled due to Tony Bennett being taken ill. Apologies to disappointed fans,” Royal Albert Hall announced. “We will contact all ticket-holders as soon as we have any more information. We would also like to wish Tony a speedy recovery.”
Bennett has been touring with Lady Gaga to promote their duets album, Cheek to Cheek. On Monday, June 8, they had the honor of taking the stage at Royal Albert Hall for a charity gala in support of WellChild, which is backed by Prince Harry. Prior to the performance, they posed with the 30-year-old royal backstage.
Bennett and Gaga are next scheduled to perform in the Bahamas on June 13. They also have four nights booked at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on June 19, 20, 22, and 23.
