Tropical Smoothie Cafe is adding a splash of sparkle to its menu this fall with the debut of its new blue shimmer sugar topping, inspired by the “mermaid-core” trend and designed to bring a tropical iridescence to smoothies and bowls.
Starting Monday, November 10, guests can order their favorite Tropical Smoothie Cafe smoothie or bowl “Mermaid Style” at no additional cost, whether ordering in the app, online, or in-cafe. The topping, available for a limited time at participating locations nationwide, gives drinks and bowls a shimmering finish that channels the carefree, expressive spirit of the tropics — no fins required.
“Mermaid Style is pure fun — it’s colorful, joyful and a little unexpected, just like us,” said Deborah von Kutzleben, Chief Marketing Officer of Tropical Smoothie Cafe, LLC. “We love finding new ways to help our guests feel the vibe of the tropics in their everyday life.”
To celebrate the launch, Tropical Smoothie Cafe will host two mermaid-inspired live events. The first takes place during the Jacksonville Jaguars game at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, on Sunday, November 16. The second event will be part of the Baltimore Ravens Purple Friday Caravan on Friday, November 14, at 2 p.m. at the Pasadena, Maryland, cafe located at 8000 Jumpers Hole Road.
Both events will feature interactive activities and surprise rewards, with highlights shared across the brand’s social media channels, including @TropicalSmoothieCafe on Instagram and TikTok.
Available only for a limited time, Mermaid Style offers fans a playful way to bring shimmer and color to their favorite tropical blends.
