Tropical Smoothie Cafe is blending family-friendly nostalgia with tropical flavors in its first-ever collaboration with Disney ahead of the May 23 premiere of the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie.
The smoothie chain has introduced the new limited-edition ‘Ohana Breeze Smoothie, inspired by Lilo & Stitch, combining pineapple, mango, banana, orange juice, and blue spirulina for a bright, naturally sweet flavor profile.
The new smoothie is named after ʻOhana, the Hawaiian word for family, and comes in two sizes — 12 oz. for kids and 24 oz. for adults — because just like the movie says, “family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”
“The ‘Ohana Breeze Smoothie represents the wholesome spirit of family, and we’re excited to offer a refreshing smoothie that provides our guests with a fun, delightful escape from the everyday while celebrating the new ‘Lilo & Stitch’ movie,” said Deborah von Kutzleben, Chief Marketing Officer of Tropical Smoothie Café, LLC.
This marks the brand’s first collaboration with a Disney feature film, and the drink’s development was directly inspired by the visual and emotional tone of Lilo & Stitch. The Tropical Smoothie Cafe culinary team tested nearly 20 variations of ingredients and color combinations before finalizing the recipe and signature shade of blue.
The ‘Ohana Breeze Smoothie isn’t the only fun way the brand is kicking off the summer season. Tropical Smoothie Cafe will celebrate National Flip Flop Day on May 28 by giving away free 12 oz. Sunrise Sunset Smoothies to guests who arrive at participating locations wearing flip flops between 2 and 7 p.m. — no purchase necessary.
