Hashtag rude! Tyler Oakley, Lilly Singh, Kingsley and a number of other popular YouTube stars read mean tweets about themselves on the Thursday, June 23, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live just ahead of the weekend’s VidCon.
While several of the social media stars, including Oakley, 27, awkwardly laughed off the Twitter insults (“tyler oakley is so annoying why does he think that every situation needs his s–tty input f–k outa here hoe”), other YouTube celebs were less polite in their reactions.
“@kingsleyyy I’m tryna do homework shut up,” YouTube comedian and blogger Kingsley read his out loud before giving the camera a raised eyebrow.
“If you’re tryna do homework why the f–k are you on Twitter?” he snapped back.
Vlogger Lilly Singh was similarly quick to push back at her Twitter hater. “@IISuperwomanII ur videos was worst,” she read. “Well, your english was worster,” she responded.
VidCon founders Hank and John Green made an appearance in the short clip as well. “I stumbled upon a Hank Green video,” one user tweeted. “And it was the most annoying thing I have ever clicked on. And I thought his brother was a douche.”
