Turns out they just wanted to crash!
Although Prince William and Kate — a.k.a. the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge — put off their overseas vacation, the newlyweds did indulge in a couple days of R & R. As previously reported, a Clarence House rep explained that the just-married duo spent the past weekend "privately in the United Kingdom."
So where'd they go after the biggest day of their lives so far?
"William and Kate spent their honeymoon weekend at home in Anglesey," a royal insider tells Us Weekly exclusively of the Wales home William, 28, and Kate, 29, share. "There were rumors that they were in various parts of Europe, but they actually just went home and stayed indoors the whole time. It was a cozy weekend."
As for the big, overseas romantic getaway? "They're looking forward to travelling for the real honeymoon later this month," the insider says. (The couple's speculated destinations have included Mustique, Jordan, Australia, and Kenya, where William proposed.)
William emerged from the abode on Tuesday — to get back to work as a search and rescue pilot at the Royal Air Force base in Anglesey. Explained a Ministry of Defense spokesman to Us: "He returned to work today. After the Bank Holiday weekend, it is now a normal working week."
