WNBA stars Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd announced their breakup, revealing they called it quits more than a year ago.
“Paige and I have something that we want to share with everyone,” Fudd, 23, said during the Friday, November 6, episode of her “Fudd Around and Find Out” podcast. “We are no longer together.”
Bueckers, 25, confirmed their split took place sometime in 2025 after going public that July.
The Dallas Wings guard reassured fans that being on the same team as Fudd is not an issue for either of them. (Fudd is also a guard for the team.)
“We were not together before she got drafted. So all of those narratives can go to bed,” Bueckers said, referring to Fudd being selected by the Wings as the No. 1 pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft in April.
Bueckers pointed out, “She was not drafted because she was my girlfriend. She was drafted because she deserved it. She’s an amazing human, amazing basketball player. And we’re still friends. We’re still cool.”
She noted that the exes have “played an entire season together” and are on good terms.
“We’re the utmost professionals. We care about basketball. And we’re still friends and we’re still cool,” Bueckers added.

The basketball player then turned to the camera to speak to her and Fudd’s fans, asking for them to stop spreading negativity about them or their loved ones.
“We don’t stand for hate of any kind. Any putting people down to lift us up, individually, together. Any negative nature of that kind, we don’t associate with that. We don’t condone that,” Bueckers said. “If you support us, why would you hate on our teammates? Like, why would you hate on our friends? Why would you hate on our family?”
She revealed, “We’ve seen a lot of negativity. We’ve seen a lot of hate. … There’s been some crazy things said about us.”
Bueckers reminded listeners, “Sometimes in life, there’s just seasons. And sometimes in life, two people are just at different points of their life.”
She insisted, “We still support each other. We’re still going to be great friends. We’re still going to be great teammates. We’re going to be professionals. At the end of the day, we still care about each other. We want the best for each other. All the negative things can be put aside and you don’t need to overanalyze everything.”
Fudd was in total agreement, telling fans that this is the last time they would be talking about their breakup on a public platform.
“We know you guys are curious and probably have a ton of questions, but we’ve addressed everything that we need to and the rest will stay with us,” she said.
The former couple concluded their split announcement by noting they would always have each other’s back.
“Heartbreak, but we’re still gang though,” Bueckers added as she and Fudd both smiled.
Bueckers and Fudd were previously teammates for four seasons at University of Connecticut from 2021 to 2025. They went public with their relationship in July 2025.
