Woman Speaks Out After She Was Bullied for Wearing Minidress to Wedding: ‘I Felt So Embarrassed’

When Liz Krueger attended a friend’s wedding in a skintight mini, a group of catty guests saw it as an opportunity to gang up on the Minnesota-based fitness instructor.

“If only I knew that choosing this dress for a wedding on a 90 degree day meant so many women would be outrightly rude to me,” Krueger wrote in a June 19 Instagram post that has since gone viral. (Watch the video above to hear Krueger's story in her own words!)

The 31-year-old claimed that at one point during the reception, a woman crept up behind her and slapped her on the bottom. “She said, ‘It was a dare from my friends; you’re a target,'” Krueger tells Us Weekly. “I turned around and saw a group of women snickering about it. They were all very intoxicated.”

Suddenly Krueger found herself surrounded by the drunk revelers. “Someone spilled a beer down my arm and there was no apology given,” the brunette beauty tells Us. “Not sure if it was intentional, but it was done. The looks and stares continued after that, and I felt so unwelcome and embarrassed.”

According to Krueger — who didn’t wear the bodycon dress to the church ceremony — some guests attended the affair in jeans and baseball caps. “It wasn’t like I was attending a black tie affair in this dress,” she says. “I have pretty good common sense in that way!”

Now Krueger is fighting back with #KruegerKindness, a movement that encourages women to support each other.

“I’m going to actively make it a priority to do good things for other women, every single day from here on out,” she Instagrammed July 2. “If you want to join me in this movement, share your stories on social media with #KruegerKindness and let**'s kill all the mean girls with kindness.”

Krueger has been overwhelmed by the response. “People have been saying, ‘I’m in!’ and ‘I love this!'” she says.

As for the dress, Krueger says she would wear it to another wedding, but would have to know the audience. “This wedding I accompanied a friend to, so I didn’t know any of the guests personally,” she explains. “I’ve been to so many weddings in my adult life and worn so many different styles of dresses.”
