Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans were shocked to learn that Yolanda Foster and David Foster are divorcing, and according to sources, the former model’s RHOBH costars were equally as surprised.
“The women were shocked,” an insider tells Us. “They didn’t see it coming.” In fact, prior to releasing a joint statement announcing their divorce on Tuesday, Dec. 1, the couple didn’t let on that they were on the verge of splitting up.
According to the source, Yolanda, 51, and David, 66, filmed with her costars four weeks ago and “everything seemed fine.”
However, as previously reported, tension had been brewing between the couple for years, ever since Yolanda was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012. Yolanda, for her part, felt that her Grammy-winning husband wasn’t there for her as she battled the disease. “Things got really bad when she got sick,” an insider explained. “He would take off for days at a time.”
According to another source, the pair, who were married for four years, have been “separated for months” but were trying to figure out how to handle their breakup publicly.
“We didn’t know,” costar Kyle Richards told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live Tuesday night. “But I think they’ve been struggling, and Yolanda’s been so sick and I don’t know if that has anything to do with anything, but it’s just so sad.”
