Soap opera star Beau Kazer passed away on Dec. 30 at the age of 63, The Wrap reports. Kazer originated the character of Brock Reynolds on The Young and the Restless in 1986 and played the role until 2011.
He also appeared on an episode of General Hospital and in Martin Scorcese’s 1976 classic Taxi Driver, where his character was named “Soap Opera Man.”
“It is with great sadness to share the news that Beau Kazer passed away on December 30th in Thousand Oaks, California,” a rep for The Young and the Restless told The Wrap. “He is survived by his wife, Sharon Alkus, who wanted everyone to know Y&R was a large part of his life that he was very proud of.”
Kazer’s costar Jess Walton tweeted, “Beau Kaiser(Brock)died just after Xmas.Bon Voyage sweet man.See you later!”
The actor’s cause of death is unknown.
