Zac Efron, who turns 22 Oct. 18, likes his new film Me and Orson Wells a whole lot more than his earlier work.
"It's the first time I've ever watched a movie [that I'm in] and in the end I'm like 'OK! I didn't check my watch once!" the High School Musical star says of the drama in the November issue of NYLON Guys magazine.

Of his HSM popularity with tweens as a Disney teen idol (along with girlfriend Vanessa Hudgeons), he says, "I try not to look at all of it. You can't enjoy or celebrate it; it's not a real thing. The face on the lunchbox and s***–you can't share that with your friends."
The transitioning actor-singer also says "there was no effort" in his musical gifts as a child. "I was constantly singing. I would hear things on the radio and just be about to spit them out instantly, with perfect memorization and tone."
Two folks who weren't impressed? Mom and Dad. "My parents were like 'Shut up. Please stop singing. It's annoying.'"
