Troy! Zac Efron failed High School Musical fans everywhere. The We Are Your Friends star, 27, couldn’t remember the name to the movie’s love ballad, “Breaking Free,” during a game with Cosmopolitan UK.
During a promo tour for the Disney alum’s new EDM flick, Efron and his costars, Max Joseph and Emily Ratajkowski, tried guessing the intros to songs and successfully identified hits like Beyonce’s “Drunk In Love,” but once the HSM jam started playing, Efron blew it.
Well, to be fair, he knew the song was from the trilogy that kicked off in 2006, he just couldn’t pinpoint the exact song. After trying to ID the track as “Soaring and Flying” — a lyric in “Breaking Free” — Efron defended himself, laughing, “There’s like three movies of songs!”
For the record, they also had no idea what One Direction’s “Steal My Girl” was either.
