In March 2013, Dion and Angelil invited Katie Couric into Dion’s recording studio for a candid interview following Angelil’s surgery for throat cancer. In June, Angelil stepped down as his wife’s manager, and two years later Dion would reveal that Angelil’s cancer was terminal. In September 2015, Dion explained he only had weeks to live. Angelil died in Janaury 2016.
