'Tis the Season!

President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama decided "The Gift of the Holidays" would be the theme for their eighth and final Christmas in the White House in 2016. Per Vogue, it was to show what a gift it's been to live at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for nearly a decade.

Santa's Little Helpers

According to Vogue, 100 volunteers spent 10 days getting the White House in order for the holidays. Additionally, 32 event design experts weighed in to help POTUS and FLOTUS' vision come to life.

Trees Galore

The estate is decked out with 63 trees, and 65,000 ornaments were used in total, Vogue reports. Some trees were decorated with patriotic-themed trinkets, ribbons and bows.

Grab a plate! In the State Dining Room, one can find the White House Gingerbread House. The impressive replica weighs a whopping 250 pounds.

Gingerbread was all the craze with this year's decorations. More than 200,000 Lego bricks made up 56 gingerbread houses, which sit on tables throughout the residence.

Personal touch! Two gigantic dog statues made out of pom-poms to represent the Obamas' pups, Bo and Sunny, decorate the White House.

Thirty-two snowpeople were placed in the Center Hall of the White House. Some wore headphones while others donned colorful scarves.

Christmas ball ornaments beautifully covered the fireplace in the library. FLOTUS hosted military families on November 29 so they could see the decorations up close.

Giving Back

Let Girls Learn, the name of the Obamas' initiative, was written near fake trees in the library. The organization ensures that adolescent girls receive an education and are given enough support to succeed in the future.

Jingle Bell Rock

More than 8,000 bows in the East Entrance, 7,500 strands of ribbon and 109 wreaths were used to deck out each room. Some decorations were even set out near a portrait of Abraham Lincoln in the State Dining Room.
