An easygoing Girl! For her Sept. 19 wedding to Ricky Van Veen at a Wyoming ranch, Allison Williams had only one request when it came to her Oscar de la Renta gown.
"I wanted sleeves, 'cause I’m always cold," Williams, 27, shared at the Forevermark Celebration of The Diamond Is Forever in NYC on Oct. 28. "That was all I knew going into it!"
But that doesn't mean she didn't look to other celeb dresses as sources of inspiration, including Kate Middleton's iconic Alexander McQueen gown. "Who didn't?" said the Girls actress, who has spoofed the Duchess in Funny or Die sketches. "[It was] just perfection."
The Peter Pan Live! actress confessed that the whole designing process came very "organically" with the designers at Oscar de la Renta. "They totally got me," Williams said. "Peter [Copping, ODLR's creative director] grew up around horses and ranches, so he kind of immediately understood the aesthetic I was going to be in."
Williams also attempted to explain what it feels like to be a newlywed. "It's hard to articulate obviously — I'm sure other smarter people can put it better than I can!" she said, but then added, "It's so different and not at all different."
