Amanda “Mandy” Karolkiewicz opened up about her shifting family dynamics in a 2024 Reddit thread before her husband, Kristopher Karolkiewicz, killed her and their six kids in an apprent murder-suicide, and she admitted that the birth of her youngest son drastically changed her views.
“I used to be staunchly pro-life. I birthed three boys and adopted two daughters. I was ademant [sic] that five kids was my max. Then I was unexpectedly pregnant,” Mandy, 39, wrote in a subreddit.
After noting that her youngest son was “hilarious” and she loved “him so much,” she admitted he was the “hardest child I have had.”
“My husband will be sixty when he graduates high school. I am stretched way too thin, and am often on the brink. I have had to ask for so much help this time around,” she said.
Mandy added that she is now “staunchly pro-choice, because no one should be forced to the brink of a mental health crisis bc of failed birth control.”
“I am loud and proud that if we ever find ourselves pregnant again I will take the abortion meds I now keep on hand in case myself or my daughters find ourselves in need,” she wrote.
Mandy and Kristopher’s youngest son was born a few years before Mandy claimed that she and Kristopher, 47, were working to strengthen their relationship after he had an affair with an intern.
She also shared in the post that she met Kristopher while she was interning at the company he worked at.
“He was divorced and older than me … fast forward ten years and five kids, he was cheating with the intern again – the same age I was when I was the intern,’ she wrote.
Mandy then admitted that she “shoved” Kristopher after she learned about his affair, saying she had a “fight or flight” mentality.
“I don’t feel bad still. He towers over me and destroyed me mentally,” she wrote of the incident. “It felt like I was being assaulted and needed to fight back.”
While Mandy didn’t say exactly when Kristopher’s affair happened, she said it took place while she was overwhelmed with raising their children.
“I was five babies in, and was actually not in bad physical shape, but I was in the trenches of little kids, and just couldn’t be who I was before,” she wrote.
Following the affair, Mandy and Kristopher started attending individual therapy and marriage counseling. However, she admitted she was still angry at the other woman in the 2024 posts.
“Forgiveness took me years,” she wrote on Reddit about her husband. “To be honest, I haven’t forgiven [her] 4.5 years later. I hate her with every fiber of my being and she should be worried if she ever ended up in the same room as me.”
She added that it was “frustrating to feel like someone who caused so much trauma in your life is getting off scot free.”
“I still wish I could witness her pain and see some karma hit her hard,” Mandy wrote before adding that she was still often “triggered” by the “trauma” of the affair.
Mandy then admitted she forced Kristopher to leave his job following the affair.
“I couldn’t even start healing until I felt that I saw him recieve [sic] some negative karma. He ended up being let go from a company, was unemployed for six months, then got a new job that wasn’t that great, and was then laid off again nine months later,” she wrote.
Mandy continued, “I watched his ego FINALLY break, and together we searched, manifested, and finally landed him the best career he’s ever had. I finally feel like he experienced consequences from his choices.”
Us previously reported that Kristopher, Mandy and their six children died inside of their home in Grand Haven Township, Michigan, on the morning of Friday, July 24.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Kristopher shot Amanda and the children before he set their home on fire.
