In Peacock’s The Wolves of Real Estate: The Alexander Brothers, viewers get an inside look into the crimes of brothers Tal Alexander, Oren Alexander and Alon Alexander.
While their trial was highly publicized, the upcoming docuseries also sheds light on how their early years informed their sex trafficking crimes.
“I think one of the striking parts about this story is that these were allegations against three brothers. This wasn’t just one powerful man,” executive producer Emma Schwartz exclusively tells Us. “We’ve seen a lot of those cases, and a lot of people had questions, including us. So if they’re brothers, what was their upbringing like? What could have shaped them?”
Schwartz says that the docuseries crew doesn’t “have all of the answers,” but they were able to learn “a few things about their early years that were really striking and stand out.”
“One of which is that you know they grew up in a very wealthy enclave of Miami. Their parents had almost lived this American dream. They were immigrants. They built a business, and by the time these brothers are in high school, they have a lot of wealth and resources,” she explains. “But there’s a lot of wealthy kids out there, and the vast majority of them are never charged with a federal crime.”
Schwartz says that the docuseries team also learned that their high school peers were not surprised by the brothers’ crimes.
“Many of the first things that they said to us was, ‘Well, I wasn’t surprised,’” she recalls of conversations with their former classmates. “There were stories, there were allegations going back to high school, and in fact, we look at an account from one of the women in this documentary. We look at a police report that was filed making allegations from that time. And so I think there were stories about how they viewed women and how they treated women, and allegations against them going back nearly two decades.”
Schwartz says that learning about their past “raised a lot of questions about how could this have happened” and “what mentality shapes people?”
“We began to sort of see a window into that through the brothers’ own messages that were released as part of the trial, messages where they’re talking about shipping women and making sure they get a good return on investment,” Schwartz explains. “That’s like seeing women as property, as something to be bought and sold.”
Alon, 39, Oren, 39, and Tal, 40, were arrested in Florida on December 11, 2024, and charged with federal sex trafficking, conspiracy and sexual assault charges after they were accused of raping many women.
The brothers were found guilty on all counts in March, and they are scheduled to be sentenced on October 27.
The Alexander brothers’ crimes will be broken down in The Wolves of Real Estate: The Alexander Brothers, with all three episodes premiering on Peacock on Sunday, October 25.
