A Texas man has been arrested following a triple homicide, in which he allegedly killed his parents and older brother.

The Travis County Sheriff’s Office announced in a news release on Thursday, May 7, that three people were found dead inside of a Pflugerville home.

Deputies reported to the home after they received a 911 call just before 8:30 a.m. from a relative, who requested a welfare check after one of the family members did not show up for work.

Upon their arrival, police found three people – a man in his 60s, a woman in her 60s and a man in his 30s – who all suffered gunshot wounds. The victims have since been identified as Armand Dahan, 62, Jami Dahan, 63, and Noah Dahan, 31.

Detectives searched the home and recovered a 9mm Glock, as well as spent shell casings near the bodies. Authorities said that it did not appear that the victims defended themselves with a gun and there was no sign of forced entry into the home, according to an affidavit viewed by Fox 7 Austin.

Joshua Dahan, the victims’ family member, was eventually arrested and charged with capital murder in connection to the triple homicide.

One hour before the welfare check call, detectives encountered Joshua, 27, in West Lake Hills. Joshua was reportedly having a mental breakdown and told authorities he was on his way to grandmother’s house, per the affidavit viewed by the outlet.

Joshua appeared to be in “obvious emotional distress” and said he was “trying to get away from them,” per the outlet. He also said that he lived with Jami and Armand, claiming they hurt him, would hide his belongings from him and would manipulate him.

Deputies then walked Joshua to his car and let him leave.

While looking into the killings, detectives obtained video from a neighbor’s home surveillance system and saw a car similar to Joshua’s leaving the area at 5:47 a.m. on May 7. The car was seen leaving just 20 minutes after a neighbor reported hearing loud banging coming from the Dahans’ home.

Family members spoke to authorities, revealing that Joshua had an interest in weapons and took medication for mental health issues.

After naming Joshua a suspect, authorities found him around 11:45 a.m. at a North Austin McDonald’s. US Marshals and Austin Police SWAT detained him and he was taken to Dell Seton for medical evaluation.

The Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services reported that Joshua was “delusional” and “uncooperative,” per the outlet. He also reportedly told hospital staff that he was a victim of sexual abuse.

An investigation into the triple homicide remains ongoing, and authorities have asked that anyone with information call the TCSO tipline at 512-854-1444.

It is not currently clear if Joshua has entered a plea or retained legal counsel following his arrest. The Travis County Sheriff’s Office did not have any additional information to share when contacted by Us Weekly.
