A man in Brazil revealed that he wants to remarry his ex-wife after she was arrested for cutting off his penis with a razor and flushing it down the toilet after she learned he cheated on her.
The initial incident took place in 2023 when Daiane dos Santos Farias learned on her birthday that her husband, Gilberto Nogueira de Oliveira, had cheated on her.
In an attempt to get revenge, she seduced Nogueira de Oliveira, 42, and tied up his hands with a pair of underwear while they were intimate. Once he was unable to move, she took out a razor and slashed at his genitals, according to The U.S. Sun.
Dos Santos Farias, 36, then turned herself in and pleaded guilty to the crime. She was ultimately sentenced to four years and eight months in prison on December 22, 2023.
The couple divorced, though Nogueira de Oliveira continued to visit Dos Santos Farias in prison. He then reached out to her in November 2025 when she was released early, and he expressed his desire to rekindle their relationship.
Nearly one year after she was released, Nogueira de Oliveira revealed that he plans to marry Dos Santos Farias for a second time using money he won in compensation after photos of his mutilated penis were released.
Following the attack, Nogueira de Oliveira was rushed to the hospital and doctors took photos of his genitals. At the time, the medical staff allegedly told him that they needed to photograph the injury because they had never experienced a case like his and wanted to figure out the best treatment.
Nogueira de Oliveira consented to having the pictures taken for medical purposes, but he later discovered that they had been sent in a WhatsApp chat, per The U.S. Sun. After the photos also circulated on X, investigators managed to track the photos back to a hospital computer. The Santa Casa de Atibaia medical center was then ordered to pay Nogueira de Oliveira $20,000 in compensation.
The compensation money won’t cover the entire wedding, so he also announced a fundraiser to help cover the costs, according to EIA Media.
“This compensation is very low. I want more. I need money because I also want to renovate my house,” Nogueira de Oliveira said after he launched an appeal for the hospital to give him more money, per The U.S. Sun.
Nogueira de Oliveira has also defended his decision to reconcile with Dos Santos Farias, saying that she only attacked him “in the heat of the moment.”
“I really want to get back together with her. I love her,” he said, per the outlet. “It never crossed my mind to do anything bad to her, and it still doesn’t.”
