A Georgia mother is accused of escalating a fight between a group of teenage girls when she grabbed a golf club and handed it to her daughter, who allegedly struck a 14-year-old girl in the head, police said.

The strike reportedly fractured the teen’s skull.

Curtisia Anya Heath, 36, and her two daughters, ages 15 and 16, were arrested on aggravated assault charges in connection with the altercation that turned violent in Newnan on Monday, August 31, according to the Newnan Police Department.

“During a verbal altercation between several juveniles,” Heath, of Newnan, got a golf club from her apartment and passed it to her 16-year-old daughter, police said in a Tuesday news release.

The 16-year-old girl then raced over to a 14-year-old girl and struck her head with the golf club, according to police.

Afterward, Heath’s 15-year-old daughter grabbed the golf club and “struck a second juvenile victim,” police said.

The 14-year-old was hospitalized as a result of the attack, her family told Atlanta News First. Her family has identified her as Keira Harps.

“I feel like now, you tried to kill my daughter,” Syrite Harps told the news outlet. “That’s what went through my mind. Ya’ll tried to kill her.”

“She was laid on the ground, she was passed out couldn’t get no response from her she wasn’t moving I thought she was dead,” Harps said of Keira.

The dispute was caught on video, capturing the fight and police response as officers arrived at the scene.

Keira’s sister Jasmine Osirio told Atlanta News First that she was there during the fight that began at a local bus stop. She accused Heath’s daughters of bullying Keira online prior to the incident.

“I’m trying to talk to the mother, but she just wouldn’t talk to me back, and so after that, it just broke loose,” Osirio said, per the news outlet.

“They also hit me with the golf club as well,” Osirio added to Atlanta News first.

Harps wrote in a GoFundMe she created for her daughter that Keira “has a skull fracture, neck swelling, and [an] incision on the top of her head” due to the alleged golf club attack.

Following Heath’s arrest, she was booked in the Coweta County Jail, according to police.

Her teenage daughters were taken to a youth detention center, police said.

In addition to aggravated assault, Heath’s older daughter was charged with aggravated battery.

Authorities didn’t release the names of Heath’s daughters.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether Heath had retained legal counsel.

Newnan is located about a 40-mile drive southwest from Atlanta.
