A Texas woman was arrested after she allegedly stabbed her two children, including a 10-month-old baby, and husband at their home.

Holly Flores is accused of attacking her infant son, her 3-year-old daughter and her husband at their Northlake residence the morning of Tuesday, October 6. Her husband called police to report the attack, police said, according to KDFW.

Flores’ husband was reportedly stabbed in the head, and the children were both stabbed in the chest, according to authorities.

All three survived the attack and were taken to a hospital, Northlake Police Chief Robert Crawford said at a Tuesday news conference, the TV station reported.

“I don’t believe they’re life-threatening,” Crawford said of the children’s injuries. “They’re still in hospital for observation, but I believe they are going to be okay.”

He described the situation as “very, very heartbreaking.”

Officers arrested Flores, 37, within minutes of responding to the stabbing, according to police, CBS News reported. She was also found to be injured and was taken to a hospital before being booked in the Denton County Jail.

Flores is charged with two counts of attempted capital murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, per the outlet.

Police had previously visited her home at least five times over the last seven months for welfare concerns, Crawford said at the news conference.

According to Crawford, Flores allegedly stabbed her husband on Tuesday as he tried to move their children to a different room during the attack, WFAA reported.

Authorities haven’t specified a potential motive or what led to the incident.

“You know, most people don’t see tragedies like this in a lifetime,” Crawford said, per KDFW. “We see it several times through our career and, after a while, that weighs on you. But yeah, if the community can just pray, pray for us and pray for the family that this has happened to.”

The Northlake Police Department continues to investigate the stabbing.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether Flores had retained legal counsel.

Northlake is about a 40-mile drive northwest from Dallas.
