A Christian school kindergarten teacher in Indiana admitted to having sex with a teenager on several occasions, including on school grounds and at the teen girl’s house.
Torrie Lemon pleaded guilty to one count of child seduction as a Level 5 felony on Thursday, May 14, and was sentenced to serve 40 days in jail, which will be followed by nearly four years of probation. She has already spent one month in jail, which will serve as part of her sentence.
Lemon, 24, will be separately sentenced on Friday, May 15, in regards to two other child seduction charges in the same case, which was filed in a neighboring county in a suburb of Indianapolis.
The teacher’s relationship with the student was revealed during a school trip in April 2025 to South Carolina, according to The New York Post. Another girl saw messages on the victim’s phone in which Lemon discussed “climaxing” and “laying in bed” with the student.
“I love you more than I can describe. I love my girl,” Lemon allegedly texted the then-17-year-old girl, according to court documents. “Thank you for an amazing night and morning.”
After the text messages were revealed, Lemon was immediately sent home from the school trip and went to the police.
“I was having an inappropriate relationship with a student from our school,” she told investigators, per the outlet.
Meanwhile, the teen told officers that she and Lemon initially developed a friendship after they both discussed their attraction to women.
The girl went on to say that she and Lemon “wanted it to just be a friendship” as it “went against their beliefs as Christians,” per the court documents.
Both Lemon and the victim said they had sex at the teacher’s apartment, which is located on school grounds.
Lemon said she was also allowed to sleep over at the girl’s home and they shared a pull-out couch in the basement. Following the sleepover, the girl started asking her parents about the age of consent.
The age of consent in Indiana is 16, according to Eskew Law.
The victim’s dad said he was aware that his daughter “kissed, hugged and cuddled” the teacher, though he didn’t want to report Lemon because he didn’t want her to lose her job, according to the court documents.
Additionally, Lemon also told investigators that the victim’s mother had suspected “there was more to their relationship” than friendship between the pair.
Lemon worked at Colonial Christian School at the time of the incident. She was fired from her position in June 2025 after the allegations about her relationship with the minor came to light.
A probable cause affidavit for Lemon’s arrest was filed on June 12, 2025, according to Fox 59. She was then officially charged on June 30, 2025, in Hamilton Superior Court 3.
