Elementary school music teacher Joseph Horner allegedly committed an unthinkable crime when he brutally killed and raped his sister-in-law, Victoria Castle, in her Long Island, New York, home in June.
While Horner is currently behind bars, he has left Castle’s family — including his wife, Alexia “Allie” Castle Horner – in shock and horror as more details about the crime have come to light in court.
As Us previously reported, Joseph was arrested on June 28, 2026, after he allegedly killed Victoria and then sexually assaulted her.

Who Is Joseph Horner’s Wife?
Not much is known about Allie, though she is entangled in the crime since her husband is the alleged killer and her sister is the victim.
Allie and Joseph got married in 2023, according to wedding photos shared on Facebook. She graduated from Long Island University C.W. Post Campus in 2023 with a Masters of Education (MSEd) in Educational Leadership.
The couple lived in a two-family house, with Victoria living in the ground-floor apartment and Allie and Joseph living in the second-floor apartment. At the time of the killing, Allie was out of town on a bachelorette trip with friends.
Joseph Horner FaceTimed His Wife After Killing and Before Raping Victoria Castle
In an unsealed a murder indictment against Joseph obtained by The New York Post, Nassau County prosecutors said that he took a FaceTime call from Allie after d Victoria went unconscious from the attack.
Prosecutors also argued that Joseph got Victoria alone by asking her to help move a keyboard, which was when he allegedly attacked her from behind.
“This defendant saw an opportunity to follow through on his sexual desires to be with the victim, a woman he admitted to lusting over since 2017,” Assistant District Attorney Alexander DePalo during a court hearing on July 29, 2026, per the outlet. “He is seen on video practicing the chokehold that he would place her in.
DePalo added, “The defendant, without warning and unprovoked, attacked the victim from behind and placed her in the same chokehold until her body went limp. The defendant then removed her clothes and moved her to a nearby bed, at which time the defendant raped the victim until he completed.”
After he allegedly killed Victoria, Joseph waited for “police on the front doorstep and was “calm and collected,” according to prosecutors.
The outlet reported that Allie attended the hearing with her parents, who comforted her as Joseph pleaded not guilty.
A Fundraiser Was Organized to Help Castle Family
Following Victoria’s murder, a GoFundMe campaign was set up to support Allie and her family.
The fundraiser was created to support Horner and her family as they deal with the loss of Castle, 25, and the aftermath of the case involving Horner’s husband, who is accused of killing Victoria Castle while his wife was out of town at a bachelorette party.
“Ms. Castle and her family have been through an unimaginable tragedy and we would like to use this platform to show our support and help them in their time of need. Our town and school community have always come together in a time of need and this is no different,” the page read. “All donations will go directly to Ms. Castle to help her get back on her feet and let her know that she is loved and we are rallying behind her during this extremely difficult time.”
