A woman in South Carolina who relies on an oxygen tank was arrested after she allegedly shot her husband several times in an attempt to kill him.

Josephine Scott was arrested on Sunday, June 28, and was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon while committing a crime in connection with a shooting at the home she shares with her husband.

Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home in Timmonsville, South Carolina, on Saturday, June 27, regarding the shooting, according to WMBF.

Following the incident, police launched an investigation into the shooting and learned that Scott,75, allegedly intentionally shot her husband after they got into an argument.

Police have not shared any information about what the argument was about or what prompted Scott to shoot at her husband in the first place. However, authorities said that Scott did allegedly shoot her husband twice.

Not much is known about the couple’s relationship, including if they have a history of domestic violence. Police have also not publicly revealed the name of Scott’s husband as of time of publication.

Authorities also noted that Scott apparently used an oxygen tank at the time of the shooting, which she was wearing in her mugshot.

Oxygen tanks are medical devices that store supplemental oxygen and help those with lung conditions to breathe, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Oxygen tanks can be used to help people with several conditions, including asthma, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, emphysema, heart failure, lung cancer and more.

Scott is scheduled to return to court for her next hearing regarding the charges on October 6.
