'The Lady's Companion' (2025-Present)

A Spanish-language period romantic comedy, The Lady’s Companion is a quirky telenovela with a Bridgerton-esque twist. Elena Bianda (Nadia de Santiago) is a professional chaperone who helps young women in 1880s Madrid find suitable marriages. She’s obsessed with propriety and a consummate professional. But when she begins working for a new household, a problem quickly arises — she’s falling for one of her charges’ suitors.

The Lady’s Companion feels a bit like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off meets Bridgerton with the lead character’s direct addresses to the camera. It works well and provides a fun, personable touch to this international show.

'Blood of Zeus' (2020-2025)

Ancient Greece gets a radical makeover in Blood of Zeus, an original Netflix animated series that combines familiar facets of the Gods of Olympus with new twists. Demons, a challenge for the throne of Olympus and a shocking tale of two brothers collide in this dramatic story.

The show’s engaging plot combines elements of traditional hero’s journey narratives with complex character development, delivering emotional depth alongside thrilling adventure thanks to the performance of the talented voice cast. Heron (Derek Phillips), a demigod and son of Zeus (Fire Country‘s Jason O’Mara), has been racing towards a great destiny since the first season of Blood of Zeus.

At the end of season 2, Gaia (Jean Gilpin) released the ancient entity known as Typhon, leaving all the gods — as well as the humans and even the spirits in the underworld — in grave danger. Can Heron and his companions save the world? Now’s the perfect time to see the series from the start as the third and final season was released on May 8.

'Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing' (2025)

In this provocative Netflix docuseries, viewers go behind the scenes in the life of Piper Rockelle, a popular child influencer, and see how dark and abusive growing up in front of an iPhone camera can be. Current and former child influencers weigh in on online safety, child labor regulations and the psychological and social implications on young audiences.

Tiffany Smith, Piper’s mother, managed a large group of child influencers known as “The Squad,” who all lived in a house together. Ultimately, Smith and her partner, Hunter Hill, were sued by 11 of the “Squad” members for not properly compensating them for their work. The $22 million suit also alleged emotional, physical and sexual abuse that took place during this time. The documentary chillingly exposes the ins and outs of the child influencer industry.
