ABC’s midseason 2027 TV slate is nearly back and bigger than ever with highly anticipated premieres, including an update on the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff, The Bachelor and Shifting Gears.
The network is also expanding the Rookie universe, which originated when its namesake premiered in 2018. The show, which follows police officers from a precinct in Los Angeles, stars Nathan Fillion, Eric Winter, Melissa O’Neill, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Mekia Cox, Shawn Ashmore and Jenna Dewan.
ABC previously expanded the franchise with The Rookie: Feds, which ran from 2022 to 2023. The Rookie: North, meanwhile, will introduce fans to Jay Ellis‘ Alex, the oldest rookie for the Pierce County Police Department in Washington state after a violent home invasion.
In addition to Ellis, The Rookie: North stars Chris Sullivan, Janet Montgomery, Froy Gutierrez, Karen Fukuhara, Mya Lowe, Malik Watson and Curtis Lum.
In an official press release, ABC also noted that the previously announced series pickup of an untitled Grey’s Anatomy spinoff will debut during the 2027-2028 broadcast season.
