Alex Cooper‘s YouTube series Unwell Games just returned for season 2 — but why was she missing on screen?
In the season premiere, which was released on Monday, September 7, host Adam Waheed addressed Cooper’s absence when he called to ask about her whereabouts.
“In case you haven’t heard, I am super pregnant,” Cooper, 32, said over the phone. “Anyway, you are on your own for this one.”
She continued: “But trust me, the group of people I put together this season will blow your mind. It is going to be epic. Now get going!”
Cooper didn’t make an appearance for the rest of the premiere. Before announcing in May that she is expecting a baby with husband Matt Kaplan, Cooper was seen multiple times in season 1 of Unwell Winter Games, which aired in April.
Season 2, meanwhile, is set in a warmer climate while introducing a new set of competitors.
“Filmed over four days at a luxury ranch in Canada, the series puts exes, rivals, friends and familiar faces under one roof for high-stakes competition and the fiery, unfiltered drama Unwell audiences have come to expect,” the show’s description read.
The cast, who is competing for a $250,000 cash prize, features Love Overboard’s Beau Bailey and Tim Demirjian, creators Chad Batchelder and Brandon Edelman, Unwell Winter Games alum Hallie Batchelder, Calabasas Confidential’s Suede Brooks and Perfect Match alum Kassy Castillo.
Rounding out the Unwell Summer Games cast are Love Island alums Pepe Garcia and Daniela Ortiz, social media personality Blake Gray, Too Hot to Handle’s Carly Lawrence, creator Zarah Kelleher, “For the Girls” host Becca Moore, Love Island UK alums Dejon Noel-Williams and Jourdan Riane and Perfect Match’s Jimmy Sotos.
Season 1 also had a star-studded lineup with The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Demi Engemann, Love Island USA star Huda Mustafa, former Dancing With the Stars contestant Anna Delvey, Siesta Key’s Juliette Porter and Love Island alums Ekin Su Cülcüloğlu and Eyal Booker.
Influencers Batchelder, Hannah Stocking and Alissa Violet, Bachelor Nation’s Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt, reality TV star Louis Russell, WWE’s Saraya Bevis and more were also included at the time.
The series is executive produced by Cooper, Kaplan, Mina Lefevre and Eric Detwiler. Unwell Summer Games will also feature commentary from Unwell Winter Games’ Cameron Gerrard and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.
