Not handing out new roses just yet. Andi Dorfman is living the single life — and loving it. The Season 10 Bachelorette packed up her bags and moved from Atlanta to New York City following her split from fiancé Josh Murray, but still runs in several Bachelor Nation circles. The former Assistant District Attorney opened up to Us Weekly about her new gal pal Kaitlyn Bristowe, former suitor Chris Soules, and, yes, her controversial ex Nick Viall.
Dorfman, 28, grabbed the wine and gossiped with girlfriends while cheering on Bachelorette Bristowe this season. But unlike other viewers, she also had to watch her ex try for another shot at love. Minnesota native Viall, who eventually lost out to Shawn Booth, rubbed contestants the wrong way when he showed up mid-season. But surprisingly, Dorfman thinks he did it for the right reasons.
"I had my ups and downs with Nick, but the thing I will say about him is I know that he is genuine in what he wants and that is love," Dorfman told Us. "Whether or not he goes about it the way that everybody else would."
She added of his Bachelor rumors: "I still definitely believe that his intentions are absolutely to fall in love. So I think that's another great characteristic that you need for a Bachelor, but we’ll see."
Dorfman and Viall, 34, left on bad terms after their breakup, especially when he shared an intimate "below the belt" comment about their fantasy suite date on After the Final Rose. The two have appeared to make amends — he told Bristowe's cast that they recently met up — but Dorfman still has another person in mind for the next Bachelor: Ben H.
"I think he's great!" she told Us. "I just think he's really genuine and sweet and cute and I think he would make a great Bachelor."
Dreamy Ben H. (real name: Ben Higgins) is on the short list to be the next Bachelor. After all, ladies fell hard for his adorable sex talk, those dimples, and his ever-so cozy cardigan sweaters. "I think girls would totally swoon for him," Dorfman gushed. "I think he just seems like a guy with good values and good morals and somebody that's very pure."
Dorfman also thinks highly of her ex Soules. She recently bumped into the Iowa farmer at a Good Morning America appearance. "I’m definitely on good terms with Chris. He's doing his thing," she told Us. "He was really a gentleman from my season from day one to the day he left. So, definitely a big fan of his and it was awesome to see him again, too."
Dorfman kept more tight-lipped about her ex Murray, but she will be spilling about breakups and heartache in her upcoming memoir. The reality star, who started fresh with a Palm Breeze-sponsored housewarming bash at NYC's Painting Lounge on Aug. 6, insists that it will be "raw" and won't be sugarcoated. She hopes that her stories and advice will also empower women.
But before it hits shelves, Dorfman has specific advice for just Bristowe and Booth. "It's really hard to make a living off of your relationship and that's what kind of tends to happen after the show," she explained. "It's really important that [they] separate the show and [their] relationship in order for it to really have a chance at working."
