Tell Us how you really feel! Azealia Banks took to Twitter on Monday, May 18, and was brutally honest about the nominees for the upcoming BET Awards, including herself and rival Nicki Minaj.
Banks, 23, was nominated in the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist category alongside Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Dej Loaf, Tink, and Trina. She was heralded by the network as "one of rap's most unfiltered MCs," and held up to her title in the aftermath of the nominations announcement.
"@bet has thrown me such much shade over the years. Keep misspelling my name…" Banks began. "I really hate getting nominated for @bet awards. They're so bogus."
"The female rap award at the bet awards goes to nicki every year, it's not even a real award anymore lol it's a bit of a running joke," she continued, naming Minaj, with whom she has often butted heads. "They should just nominate nicki five times with five different wigs on and pick the best picture lol."
Minaj, 32, has indeed dominated at the BET Awards in recent years, taking home the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist honor in 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, and 2010.
Banks went on to target Minaj's fans, tweeting, "*hears barbz buzzing in the distance* *rolls up car windows* *sound of little barb heads slamming into glass* *unconscious barbs on floor*… *turns up random nicki Minaj verse* *puts car in reverse* *backs up over barbs* *blood splatters* *puts car in drive and takes off*"
For her part, Minaj has yet to comment on Banks' rant. The celebrated rapper's Twitter feed is populated instead by links and fan tweets about her new music video "Feeling Myself" with Beyonce. The "Anaconda" performer is up for multiple other awards at the show, which is scheduled for June 28, including Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Viewers' Choice.
