‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Recap: Jared Haibon and Caila Quinn Exit, Amanda Stanton Makes Decision About Josh Murray

So much happened during the Tuesday, August 30, episode of Bachelor in Paradise — and we’re not just talking about Evan Bass getting an erection after making out with Carly Waddell, resulting in a black box from ABC. Turns out there’s a reason he’s an erectile dysfunction specialist, and, yes — we are traumatized. But aside from that good time, Caila Quinn and Jared Haibon made a huge decision about their stint in Paradise, Wells Adams found himself in a love square and Amanda Stanton questioned her future with Josh Murray.

Caila and Jared Leave Paradise, So RIP Ashley’s Heart/Sanity

Dueces, Caila and Jared! This dynamic duo chose to leave Paradise, thanks to Ashley Iaconetti harshing their romantic buzz — but you better believe Jared confronted his bestie before peacing out. Ashley sobbed profusely about how she just wants to “protect” Jared, and thanks to his being a huge softie, he actually ended up comforting her. “I feel like Caila’s an awful person,” Ash told cameras. “I stand true to Caila being a piece of s–t.”

Ashley’s superfair and totally not-crazy feelings on Caila aside, Jared ended up running after Caila’s car and leaving Paradise with his love after four highly uncomfortable weeks of dating. “This is the girl,” Jared mused. “The possibilities are limitless with Caila.” Possibilities like they’ll break up as soon as they arrive on U.S. soil? Who knows!

The Ladies Flock to Wells Like Sheep to Little Bo Peep

Bad news for Ashley: Wells and Jami Letain came back from their date holding hands. But amazingly, Paradise‘s most dramatic contestant managed to remain somewhat chill. So chill that Wells ended up being more attracted to her than ever, leading to a highly awkward love triangle. “I don’t wanna do this anymore,” Wells said of the uneasy dynamic. “I’m scared.”

To make matters worse, Shushanna Mkrtychyan showed up and asked Wells out, while Lauren H. arrived and asked Brett out. So, basically Wells found himself in a love square, while Ashley, Jamie and Izzy Goodkind were rejected, with a bunch of crabs as their only friends.

Wells Gets Cozy with Shushanna and Her “Phenomenal Body”

Surf’s up! Sorry, Ash, Izzy and Jamie, but Wells and Brett’s double date with Shushanna and Lauren was a total success. Sure, Brett had a super cringe-y moment when he said, “I brought my bitches to the beaches,” and yeah, Wells overtly checked out Shushanna’s butt — but guys! Modern love!

“She’s like this sexy Bond villain,” Wells mused. “That you’re not sure if she’s gonna cast some spell on you, or murder you, or rip your clothes off. … Making out with her is, like, really sexy.”

Considering Wells got home from his date and took turns making out with his other two lady friends as well, we’re thinking next week’s rose ceremony is going to serve drama.

Amanda and Josh Are in It to Win It

Amanda and Josh finally got a date card, y’all! The most hated on couple in Paradise had a chance to spend quality time together, and it couldn’t have come at a better moment. Especially since Ashley admitted to the cameras that she was worried about being blinded by her feelings — which could get in the way of a proposal.

“It hasn’t really been easy being here. … We’ve struggled a little bit,” Amanda told the cameras. “I don’t want to look back at this and be like, ‘I should have listened to everybody.'”

Josh got a chance to set Amanda’s mind at ease during their date, in which he accused Nick Viall of trying to “sabotage” their relationship and promised Amanda that she’s his focus. Her response? “I trust you, and I’m so happy. … The hardest part is us being so excited and so happy, and everybody else not being excited for us.”

The smitten mother of two also told the cameras, “Josh isn’t perfect, but neither am I. I don’t think anybody is. But what I can say is, Josh is perfect for me.” Whatever makes you happy, girl!

Tell Us: Should Amanda stay with Josh, despite the concerns about his temper? And do you have high hopes for Jared and Caila?

Bachelor in Paradise airs on ABC Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
