Hayes, 27, was the first guy to meet Fletcher, 25, on the beach in Thailand, prepared to make this the greatest day of his life. Sadly, he delivered a heartfelt speech without knowing that the real estate developer was planning to reject him.

“This is crazy — it’s a good crazy,” the former competitive swimmer told Fletcher about his strong feelings. “It’s the kind of crazy that kept me searching for this forever love — without giving up — that I found in you. Jo, my family adores you, and my future longs for you, my heart yearns for you, and I undoubtedly and wholeheartedly am in love with you.”

“I am crazy about you,” Hayes continued. “It’s a love that’s so deep, it makes me weak in the knees. It’s a love that you only hear about in fairy tales and stories. I want to be with you forever, I will love you forever, I will protect and care for you forever, and you know I’ll keep you safe. You’re not just my partner in crime — you’re my best friend, and I promise I’ll love you till the day I die.” Wow.

Finally, Fletcher spoke up to let him know that, well, she just wasn’t that into him.

“I can’t let you get down on one knee — I can’t let you do that because I don’t want to take that moment from you,” Fletcher told him. “Robby, I woke up this morning wanting it to be you. Every day, I’ve been wanting it to be you. I fell in love with you, but for some reason my heart is somewhere else.”

“You don’t get how badly I wanted it to be you,” she added to her runner-up. “I wanted it to be you.”
