‘The Biggest Loser’ Star Dolvett Quince on Shocking Season 17 End: A ‘Finale for the Books!’

Well, it was another finale for the books! A true cliffhanger filled with suspense, drama and even a final temptation! It has been quite a journey filled with life lessons, challenges, competitions and self-discoveries, all culminating in that final moment on the scale.

Before we got to the live portion of the night, we had to find out who would be joining Roberto and Stephen as a finalist — Colby or Jacky. Jacky lost six pounds to get her to 215 pounds, which means Colby needed to lose seven pounds to beat her, and he put up a nine. Congrats to Colby for moving on, but I’ve gotta give it up to Jacky, who did an amazing job. She — along with her husband, Stephen — remained as the last team on the ranch, and they made it all the way through to the final weigh-in.

So then we moved to the live portion, where Bob [Harper], Jen [Widerstrom] and I got to see all of the contestants again for the first time since they left. Man, I love this part. Everyone looks amazing. Did you see Erin? She is a total knockout, inside and out. I loved how she talked about getting out of your own way — her new song “Out of the Darkness” is a perfect description of how to rise above your own fears and become someone greater that you didn’t know was within you. Bravo, Erin!

All my Red Team members looked incredible! My girl Toy lost 84 pounds, and Britney lost 33 pounds. Whitney and Felicia each lost 56 pounds, and Richard lost 45 pounds. And let’s talk about father-daughter duo Rob and Sarah — their results were fantastic! They lost 116 and 119 pounds, respectively. Then we see our final three contestants, and man, oh man, Stephen walked out on that stage looking like a totally different person — talk about hard work and dedication paying off!

Before the three finalists weighed in, they were faced with one final challenge — with the push of a button, they could win $50,000, along with a three-pound disadvantage for the weigh-in. All I kept thinking is, “DON’T PUSH THAT BUTTON STEPHEN. DON’T DO IT. DO NOT DO IT.” And I’m proud of Stephen — he stayed true to himself and did not give in to temptation. But Colby did push the button. Am I surprised? Not really. Like he said during the show, he is already a winner. He sees how the Biggest Loser experience has affected not only his own life, but also affected friends, family and viewers who have been watching the show. A wise decision for him.

In the end, Roberto pulled off the win with 160 pounds lost (45.98 percent), which is an incredible feat. His twin brother, Luis, won the at-home prize, losing 139 pounds. They were and always will be a fierce duo as brothers and competitors.
