We’re not gonna want this night to end! The 2016 CMT Awards are rapidly approaching, and Us Weekly can now exclusively reveal this year’s star-studded list of performers, which includes Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan and more top-notch country stars.
Shelton will perform a brand-new tune from his latest album, If I’m Honest. The Voice coach will perform alongside Country Music Hall of Fame members the Oak Ridge Boys and debut his new song, “Doin’ It to a Country Song.”
Shelton and girlfriend Gwen Stefani just released their new duet, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” last Monday, May 9. “Originally, when I started the song, I was just, I was only trying to impress her,” Shelton revealed to Extra last week. “You know, just trying to write her a song to get her excited about me. And I sent her the song half-finished, and she wrote the other half of the song. So, it’s such a fifty-fifty emotionally invested thing.”
Urban, who also just released his new album, Ripcord, will play his latest hit, “Wasted Time,” alongside his tour mates Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris.
Other scheduled performers ahead of the 2016 CMT Music Awards include breakout star Chris Stapleton, who leads the list of nominees alongside Carrie Underwood. Additional musicians set to take the stage during the live broadcast include Florida Georgia Line and Thomas Rhett.
The 2016 CMT Music Awards will air Wednesday, June 8, at 8 p.m. ET. Fans can vote through Monday, June 6, for the winners on CMT.com and determine who will take home the Video of the Year.
