Months before Danielle Milian gave birth to her late son, Richie, whom doctors diagnosed with omphalocele while he was still in utero, E! cameras caught the devastating conversation she had to have with her husband, Richard, about whether to terminate her pregnancy. In an exclusive sneak peek of Season 2 of Christina Milian Turned Up, Danielle sits down with her hubby to discuss their options.
“On top of having all of his organs exposed, my son also has a rotated heart,” Danielle tells the camera before explaining to Richard that their unborn son’s condition meant Richie faced a 57 percent mortality rate.
“It explains why all the doctors have just kind of been questioning us so hard about what we wanna do,” she tells her husband through tears. “The right thing to do would be not make our child suffer. I don’t want to make my baby suffer just because I want him.”
As previously reported by Us, the 29-year-old gave birth to her son this past August, but hours after arriving, the newborn passed away.
“Yesterday I was blessed with the birth of my Richie Bear. Unfortunately, last night he took his place with the Lord and we said goodbye,” Danielle shared on Instagram at the time. “I so appreciate the prayers and support from everyone. He touched my heart and was perfect in so many ways.”
