Debra Messing isn’t afraid to kiss and tell — especially if the kiss is bad! During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live earlier this week, the Smash alum dished on one of her least-favorite former costars: Jeremy Piven, who apparently got a little overzealous during their makeout scene on Will & Grace back in 2000.
Asked by a caller to name the best and worst guest stars on the sitcom, Messing, 46, was quick to single out Harry Connick, Jr. as her favorite. (The crooner played her husband, Leo Markus, from 2002 to 2006.) WWHL host Andy Cohen then brought up Bobby Cannavale, who played a love interest for Eric McCormack, as a possible contender for least-favorite, which the actress quickly shot down.
“Oh my god, are you kidding? No! We loved each other,” she said. “You know who, at the time, I wasn’t a fan of? Jeremy Piven.”
As Will & Grace viewers may remember, the Entourage star, 49, appeared on a Season 3 episode in which Grace’s ex-boyfriend (Piven) asks her to join him and his girlfriend for a threesome. She agrees — but then can’t go through with it.
“You know, I had to kiss a lot of boys on that show,” Messing recalled. “And we were rehearsing, and the very first day of rehearsal, he shoved his tongue all the way down to my heart.”
Messing was taken aback — not just by the kiss, but also by his attitude. “I was just like, ‘Whoa!’ He goes, ‘Yeah, yeah,'” she told Cohen. “He was like, ‘That’s it, I’m in.’ I was like, ‘You know, this is comedy. We don’t really go that deep.’ And every time he went for it.”
