New guy, same problems. The official trailer for Kindergarten Cop 2 dropped on Tuesday, February 16, and it’s exactly what you think it’d be like. Dolph Lundgren stars in the upcoming comedy as FBI agent Reed, who goes undercover as a kindergarten teacher.
The Swedish actor, 58, is on a mission to find stolen data, but that’s the least of his worries. While balancing his real job, he needs to handle the little terrors, nap time and nightmarish class trips.
Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in the original Kindergarten Cop in 1990 alongside Penelope Ann Miller, Pamela Reed, Linda Hunt and Richard Tyson. The comedy was a box-office smash and gave viewers one of the action star’s often-quoted lines, “It’s not a tumor!” In May 2015, the former bodybuilder revealed that Kindergarten Cop is one of his favorite movies that he’s ever worked on.
“For so many years I tried to get into comedies. Because the studios made all this money from the action movies they’d say, ‘Why would we go and change now the mold?'” Schwarzenegger, 68, explained during the Late Late Show With James Corden at the time. “Then when I finally met [director] Ivan Reitman and we did Twins and then we did Kindergarten Cop — I was in heaven. It was such a great director and working with Danny DeVito — it was really great.”
Kindergarten Cop 2 also stars Bill Bellamy, Andre Tricoteux, Aleks Paunovic and Fiona Vroom. It will be available on DVD and Digital HD on May 17, 2016.
