Steamy! Ellie Goulding went bold with her latest track, recording a sexy new song for the soundtrack to the feverishly anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
The British singer, 28, lent her vocals to the big-screen adaptation of E L James‘ famously raunchy novel and debuted “Love Me Like You Do” on Wednesday, Jan. 7.
The electronic single opens with Goulding’s Fifty Shades-inspired lyrics as she croons, “You’re the light, you’re the night / You’re the color of my blood / You’re the cure, you’re the pain / You’re the only thing I wanna touch / Never knew that it could mean so much, so much.”
Goulding has yet to confirm whether the song will be featured on her upcoming third studio album, hyped to hit stores later this year. The “Burn” performer previously released her debut album Lights in 2010, and her sophomore effort Halcyon in 2012.
“Love Me Like You Do” joins previous musical offerings on the soundtrack from the likes of R&B favorite The Weeknd and the queen, Beyonce. Born Abel Tesfaye, The Weeknd debuted a slow jam called “Earned It” last month, while a mellow spin on Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” has been featured in the Fifty Shades movie trailers.
