Eric Dane‘s ex-girlfriend Priya Jain addressed his scenes in Euphoria‘s third season, which were filmed shortly before the actor’s death.
“I have been watching. It is an incredible show and a great season,” Jain, 28, who dated Dane from 2024 to 2025, told TMZ on Monday, April 27.
Jain was happy to see Dane reprise the role of Cal one last time, adding, “Eric is incredible in everything that he has ever been in. It is amazing to see him act.”
The actress was also asked what she thought of Dane’s scenes.
“He is so talented, and I love watching him as an actor,” she noted. “Of course, I wish he was here to see it himself.”
Dane joined the HBO show as Cal Jacobs, the father of Jacob Elordi‘s Nate Jacobs, when the series premiered in 2019. He continued to portray the character in season 2, but questions arose about everyone’s future on the show after subsequent filming delays.
Before production started on season 3, Dane announced his ALS diagnosis and revealed whether he would be returning to film the show.

“I have been diagnosed with ALS,” he said in an April 2025 statement. “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter. I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to [the] set of Euphoria next week. I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time.”
Dane also booked roles on Countdown, Kabul and an episode of Brilliant Minds ahead of his death at age 53 in February.
“We are deeply saddened by the news of Eric Dane’s passing,” read a statement from HBO at the time. “He was incredibly talented and HBO was fortunate to have worked with him on three seasons of Euphoria. Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.”
Creator Sam Levinson released his own statement, which read, “I’m heartbroken by the loss of our dear friend Eric. Working with him was an honor. Being his friend was a gift. Eric’s family is in our prayers. May his memory be a blessing.”
Levinson later spoke about honoring Dane — and his late costar Angus Cloud — in the third season of the show. (Cloud died in July 2025 following an accidental overdose. He was 25.)
“Some people ask why it took so long between seasons 2 and 3. There were obvious factors — the strikes, trying to make a schedule work with our very in-demand cast, but the real time was in trying to figure out how to find a way to pay respect to those who we lost,” Levinson said at the premiere earlier this month.
He continued: “When Angus died, it was tough. I loved him deeply, and I fought hard to keep him clean. The year he died, in 2023, he was one of 73,000 people in America who died of a fentanyl overdose. I learned a whole lot that year, but what I realized more than anything is that death is what gives life meaning. You can’t be arrogant about existence. You’re forced to reckon with the fact that life itself is a wonder, a gift, a profound blessing.”
Euphoria airs on HBO Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
