Fans of Off Campus and The Summer I Turned Pretty should be tuning into Prime Video’s Every Year After — but where will they recognize the cast from?
Based on Every Summer After by Carley Fortune, Every Year After follows Percy (Sadie Soverall), who grew up vacationing in Barry’s Bay. After spending all her time with the Florek brothers, Percy formed a connection with Sam.
Their romance fizzled out — until they met again years later — and now they have a second chance at love. The only problem? Underlying issues that led to their initial breakup, which will be built up to throughout the season.
“I see five seasons,” showrunner Amy B. Harris told Entertainment Weekly on Wednesday, June 10. “Obviously, there’s another book that’s connected to Barry’s Bay that I think will be a very exciting blueprint for us for a potential season 2.”
Harris teased how the source material differs from the adaptation.
“We have these six main characters, and I think we’ll be adding characters as the seasons go on. I really see this as a series, and it’s why we built it the way we did so that we can come back and explore a lot more romance,” she said at the time.. “We have lots more to say both about Percy and Sam’s love story, but also about these other characters who hopefully people will come to love as much as they do Percy and Sam.
Sadie Soverall
The first season will follow Soverall in the role of Persephone “Percy” Fraser as the main character.
Matt Cornett
Cornett, meanwhile, stars opposite Soverall as love interest named Sam Florek.
Michael Bradway
Sam’s brother, Charlie Florek, is played by Bradway.
Aurora Perrineau

Joseph Chiu

Elisha Cuthbert
Cuthbert appears as Sue Florek in the first season, who died before the events in the premiere.
