Face Off Celebrates 100th Episode: Where Are Its Crazy Talented Makeup Artists Now?

In honor of the 100th episode of Syfy's groundbreaking special effects makeup competition, Face Off, find out what its crazy talented alums are up to now.

Happy 100 episodes! Syfy’s groundbreaking special effects makeup reality competition, Face Off, airs its landmark 100th installment on Tuesday, Aug. 11. The show, which features crazy talented industry professionals creating mindblowingly elaborate works of art in weekly challenges, has been home to many successful artists throughout its nine seasons.

In the 100th episode, the current batch of contestants will create macabre makeup for engaged couples, who will then be married by host McKenzie Westmore.

Below, find out where some of those talented people have wound up since their tenures on the series.

Anthony Pepe
Season 1 vet Anthony Pepe is now the makeup department head for NBC’s The Blacklist.

Season 1

Winner Conor McCullagh has worked on The Hunger Games series, Oz the Great and Powerful, and The Vampire Diaries. Anthony Pepe has worked on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Amazing Spiderman 1 & 2, Non-Stop, and is now the makeup department head for NBC’s The Blacklist. Megan Areford has worked on Iron Man 2, Thor, and TRON. Kayla Jo Holland has worked on American Horror Story and 300: Rise of an Empire. Marcel Banks has worked on American Horror Story and Riddick. Tate Steinsiek is a veteran of The Amazing Spiderman and Sharknado 2, and does tours of Walker Stalker Con with The Walking Dead cast. Frank Ippolito works in film, and also runs a podcast called Creature Geek hosted on Adam Savage‘s (Mythbusters) website, Tested.com. He also helps Savage with his cosplay projects.

Greg Lightner

Season 2

Heather Henry has credits on Dallas, while Tara Lang has worked on Sharknado, Sex Sent Me to the ER, and Epic Rap Battles of History. Greg Lightner has worked on Sex Sent Me to the ER and Hansel & Gretel, and has been working as a key fabricator at Total Fabrication, Inc making costumes for Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, and more. He’s also teaching FX makeup at Ruby Makeup Academy.

Season 3

Roy Wooley has worked on both parts of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. Laura Dandridge, who was known as Laura Tyler on the show and also appeared on Season 5, worked on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. She recently moved to Atlanta, Ga., and has worked on three major films within the last year — but since none of them have been released, you’ll have to wait for details!

Kate Machaiek

Season 4

Eric Fox was responsible for some of Sharknado 3‘s magic. Katie Machaiek can be seen doing a demo for 13th Floor Haunted House at the Phoenix Comic Con.

Adolfo Barreto

Season 5

Steve Tolin‘s credits include Jack Reacher and The Dark Knight Rises. Scott Ramp owns the company The Scream Team, and runs makeup at Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Fright Fest. He teaches at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Adolfo Barreto does makeup design for Las Vegas shows such as Zombie Burlesque and Alice at the Hard Rock Hotel. He even built a piece for Britney Spears’ show at Planet Hollywood. 

Scott Ramp

Season 6

Daniel Phillips worked on The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug and The Battle of the Five Armies, Real Steel, and Oz the Great and Powerful. Matthew Silva‘s credits include Selma, Constantine, and The Vampire Diaries. Corine Foster has worked on Sharknado and Z Nation. Cat Paschen, who lives with fellow Face Off alums Chloe Sens and Niko Gonzalez, launched the company DYAD make up and FX studio with Gonzalez.

Eddie Holecko

Season 7

Sasha Glasser worked on X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Vinvent Niebla‘s work can be seen in Life of Pi and The Amazing Spiderman. Some of George Troester‘s feature credits include Snow White & The Huntsman, Ender’s Game, and Man of Steel — and he lives with Season 7 contestants Damien Zimmerman (who is working for a company called Immortal Masks and also worked on Sharknado 3) and Keaghlan Ashley. Drew Talbot teaches at Hollywood Makeup Academy, and Daran Holt is teaching basic sculpting and prosthetics.

Season 8

Ben Peter was hired by Springboro Haunted Hayride in Springboro, Ohio, as the lead designer. He’s also getting married next year!

Face Off airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Syfy.
