And again! Gwen Stefani continues to wear her heart on her sleeve while performing “Used to Love You.” The No Doubt singer belted out the emotional ballad during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, Dec. 3.
Stefani, 46, wore a white off-the-shoulder dress, which was teamed with a gold belt, for the show. She was accompanied by Fallon’s house band, The Roots.
As previously reported, Stefani wrote “Used to Love You” after ending her 13-year marriage to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. (Us Weekly exclusively revealed that Rossdale, 50, had been cheating with their nanny Mindy Mann for three years.)
“I got a divorce, which was completely not in the plan at all. I don’t know. For me, it surely wasn’t. A shock. A horrible, crazy year and explosion in my life,” Stefani told Z100’s Elvis Duran on Dec. 3. “I just wanted to be in my bed crying and do what you do when life falls apart . . . Anyways, I went to the studio, and I was convinced that I had to make something out of this.”
Stefani has seen better days since finalizing her divorce. Now dating Blake Shelton, the pair have been gushing about each other nonstop. On Thursday, Stefani congratulated the country superstar for being honored with a CMT Artist of the Year award.
“Congrats @blakeshelton #cmtartistoftheyear #michaeljacksonofcountrymusic gx,” Stefani wrote via Instagram. The mom of three also posted a bizarre nail art video of her beau. In the clip, which was originally done by a fan, a person is painting Shelton’s face onto their thumbnail.
