Katniss is back. Jennifer Lawrence learned you can't go home again in the new teaser for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, returning to her destroyed District 12.
The new spot for the upcoming Hunger Games installment debuted on Wednesday, Oct. 15, accompanied by the line, "When all is lost, courage is found." The sentiment is echoed in the clip, which opens with a shot of Lawrence, 24, as her character Katniss Everdeen.
Set to a haunting song called "Yellow Flicker Beat" that Lorde recorded for the movie's soundtrack, a dark-haired Katniss is shown brooding and withdrawn, after the games "destroyed her."
"No one else can do this but her," the voice of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee says in the background. "We need to make it personal for her."
Katniss is inspired in her mission by returning home to her beloved District 12, which has been destroyed by the Capitol and left in complete disarray. The Girl on Fire collects keepsakes and belongings before finding one flourishing rosebud in a vase of dead flowers.
