Pretty Little Liars star Ian Harding, 25, knows how lucky he is to have a steady job.
Before he hit it big on the ABC Family series, he worried about "limited artistic control," "lack of job security" and "the glut of douche bags inhabiting Los Angeles," he tells VMAN's spring 2012 issue (guest edited by Carine Roitfeld).
Despite his profession's challenges, "if someone told me I couldn't [be an actor] anymore, I would probably put a gun to my mouth," Harding jokes.
The actor, who plays Lucy Hale's love interest on Pretty Little Liars, admits that female actors "definitely have it worse" in Hollywood.
"I know for a fact that there are fewer meaty roles than there are male parts. The pressure to be thin is very real and extremely vicious," Harding tells VMAN. "But I do think it's getting better, especially as more and more women rise to places of authority behind the camera."
