A legend remembered. Imagine Dragons paid tribute to the late Ben E. King during the 2015 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 17.
The rock band — frontman Dan Reynolds, Daniel Wayne Sermon, Daniel Platzman, and Ben McKee — honored the R&B singer by performing his classic “Stand By Me.”
Imagine Dragons’ moving and emotional set received a standing ovation, with stars like Taylor Swift and Fifth Harmony singing along. King’s daughter and granddaughters were also in attendance for the special moment.
King died at age 76 on April 30. Other stars who’ve covered his 1961 hit over the years include John Lennon, U2 and Bruce Springsteen, Otis Redding, and Ike and Tina Turner.
