Jeremy Renner is gearing up for one last ride as Mike McLusky.
Paramount+ announced in January 2026 that Mayor of Kingstown would return for a fifth and final season. Production officially started two months later, with Renner and the rest of his stacked cast on board to return.
“It all comes down to this,” a March 2026 Instagram caption read. “The 5th and final season of #MayorOfKingstown is now in production.”
Renner was back in Mike’s suit for the social media image, standing alongside cocreator Hugh Dillon, who also stars as Ian Ferguson.
By June 2026, the cast had officially wrapped filming, with Renner sharing an emotional message about his journey as Mike.
“Today I am happy. Not everyday but most days I think,” he captioned an Instagram post at the time, “I’m grateful to welcome joy and laughter when they arrive. I know the weight of what’s lurks around every corner to try to take it away. We are living in very challenging times together. Not separate but together.”
He added, “So I celebrate every moment and everyday of health and happiness with those who are dearest to me … I hope you have a beautiful day and share it with someone you love.”
Renner told fans that production had officially closed on the Mayor of Kingstown final season.
“Today we celebrate. Today we are filled with gratitude. I am so very thankful for all of your support over the years — it has given my stride and purpose in my recovery and love in my heart,” he continued. “Thank you cast and crew for carrying me through when necessary. Today… I am HAPPY !! Blessings JR The Mayor.”
