Halloween from the other siiiiiide! Ever since Adele released (a whole week ago) her first single in years, “Hello,” comedians and YouTubers have been lining up to spoof the emotional sepia-toned music video. The latest attempt comes from Late Late Show host James Corden and funnyman Billy Eichner.
On Thursday, Oct. 29, the duo recreated the music video with a new Halloween-centric spin. It started off with the British host, 37, dressed as Chewbacca, calling Eichner, also 37, and asking him to trick-or-treat as his Han Solo.
When Eichner, in a cow costume, refuses and instead opts go with his family, Corden begins: “Halloween, it’s me. I was wondering if after all these years, you’d like to trick-or-treat.”
“No more doorbells to ring, I’m too grown-up these days for costumes and I ain’t doing sweets,” Eichner responds.
When it comes time for the belt-worthy chorus, the pair croon, “Halloween from the other side! We were closer than Mike & Ike!”
In addition to an online mashup of Adele and Lionel Richie’s respective “Hello” music videos, Ellen DeGeneres also spoofed the clip in a recent sketch. Tell Us: Which Adele gag has been your favorite?
