When you’re stuck making potions in the Hogwarts dungeons all day, you’re bound to smell bad, right? Famed author J.K. Rowling is known for giving Harry Potter fans some great answers to their burning questions about the boy wizard and the people who inhabit his world. And on Friday, Oct. 2, the British writer didn’t disappoint.
When @HEIROFSLYTHERIN asked, “What does snape smell like?” on Twitter, her brief, but hilarious, response was: “Bitterness and old shoes.”
She also clarified a longtime rumor that the despised head of the Slytherin house and future Hogwarts headmaster, who was played by actor Alan Rickman in the eight Potter films, wasn’t exactly human.
When @Riverfeather207 asked, “There’s another theory that Draco Malfoy is a werewolf fact or fiction?,” Rowling replied, “I’ve never seen that one before. Draco definitely isn’t a werewolf (and Snape’s not a vampire).”
Tell Us: Do you agree that Snape would smell like “bitterness and old shoes”?
