Mulroney continued to gush over Roberts backstage. "I'd walk a mile on broken glass for her, so this was a lot easier to come in to Culver City," he told Entertainment Tonight. "It doesn't always happen with every person that you love and work with — you kind of go your separate ways," he added. "But we, against all odds, managed to maintain a great close friendship. So, I'm happy to be here tonight."

Roberts and Mulroney played Julianne Potter and Michael O'Neal in the beloved 1997 comedy My Best Friend's Wedding. Julianne was in love with Michael and tried to stop him from marrying his girlfriend, Kimberly Wallace (Cameron Diaz). Julianne was the worst "best man" in history, but her failed efforts inspired a humorous car chase and a "I Say a Little Prayer" sing-along led by her gay best friend George Downes, played by Rupert Everett.
